The popular 5-days art show called The Harlem Fine Arts Show will set to begin on Thursday night and will end on February 2. It will be held in New York’s historical Riverside Church. Since the proceeds of the show will go directly to the Harlem School of Arts, students are invited to tour the show and meet the artists for free on January 31st.

The Art Show will showcase local artists such as Leroy Campbell, Paul Goodnight, Micheal Escoffery, Frank Frazier, Woodrow Nash, Dane Tilghman and Brenda Joysmith.

Dion Clarke, founder of the show told Daily News that “Harlem is a great place fro us to have it. We’re trying to make sure the neighborhood stay relevant Every piece of art featured, Clarke said, has been chosen for the way it represents African diaspora — from abstract paintings to mixed medium works and everything in between.”

Some of the works that will be displayed on the said event would include “Accomplishments” by Leroy Campbell where he used mixed media painting using newspaper clippings.

Also, other attractions include “My Lady” by Laura James and “Break of Dawn” by artist Frank Morrison.

This year, the popularity of the show has significantly rose from 20 artists in 2010 to 90 artists today. In fact, the proceeds did increase to almost $2.2 million.
